The residence boasts a $1 million-plus bathroom and a roof deck overlooking the Atlantic Ocean
A Miami penthouse that sold for $20.5 million at auction in February is back on the market, now with a price tag of $33.9 million.
The three-floor penthouse overlooking the Atlantic Ocean at the Regalia Miami in Sunny Isles Beach offers more than 13,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor living space, according to last week’s listing with Mark Pordes of Legacy Development Sales & Marketing.
About 3,500 square feet is outdoor space, including a private rooftop that is accessed via a pneumatic glass elevator, the listing said. There’s a pool, a summer kitchen and a bar atop the 46-level tower.
There are also floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the residence that “frame the dramatic ocean and 360-degree unobstructed waterfront views from sunrise to sunset,” the listing said.
Over-the-top amenities can be found at every turn, including “functional art installations” such as a custom rainfall chandelier, a floating staircase in the great room and a lounge area with a 500-bottle wine case and a bar made with a single slab of amethyst stone, according to the listing.
The primary bedroom suite spans the entire length of the 44th floor, the listing said. Its bathroom is made of 100 slabs of gold-veined calacatta marble that’s been bookmatched to create a seamless look, which is estimated to have cost around $1 million. There’s also a steam room, a sauna, two showers and a soaking tub with views.
The penthouse first hit the market in 2017 for $39 million, according to listing records. At that time, the residence was offered with a $500,000 pink diamond included in the purchase price, The Wall Street Journal reported.
In May 2020, the Miami developer, Regalia Beach Developers LLC, filed for bankruptcy. In August 2020, a U.S. bankruptcy judge approved a settlement that stipulated the two remaining units at Regalia, which includes the penthouse, be sold, according to The Real Deal.
The residence was auctioned off last month, and the buyer was a LLC linked to Mr. Pordes, according to records with PropertyShark. He did not respond to requests for comment.
Completed in 2014, the 39-unit Regalia Tower was designed by architect Bernardo Fort-Brescia of Arquitectonica with interiors by designer Charles Allem of CAD International. Building amenities include an oceanfront infinity pool with private poolside cabanas and beachfront services, a spa and salon, a fitness center, a residents-only cafe and five-star concierge services, according to the listing.
